He is Walking!

I finally got video of him walking!!! He has been at it for a few weeks now, but was a bit camera shy! He is going to be running soon!

The Lion King!

While i was pregnant i bought Coltons Halloween costume since they were on sale. I knew he would be 12 months old for his first Halloween.... i didn't know that he would be wearing 12 month old clothes when he was 9 months old.....so i had to take a few pictures of him in his costume before he grew out of it! Now i need to come up with something new for Halloween!

Book Review- March

Just finished "March" by Geraldine Brooks. This book has an interesting twist. If you are familiar with the story "Little Woman" you know that the father (Mr. March) is a way at war for most of the book. "March" is the story of Mr.March's journey while being away for the civil war.

After reading the first chapter i wasn't sure if i would like it because it is very "war" like. But in the second chapter the story actually starts to unfold and i really enjoyed it.

You do not need to know the story of "Little Woman" to read this book. However i think you may enjoy it more if you have more background information on the March family.

Grandma and Grandpa Come to Visit!!!

Last weekend Casey's parents (Grandma and Grandpa) came to visit. My dad (Papa) was still here and we were still in major remodel mode. So their visit was full of painting and cleaning. But of course we got some play time with Colton in too! Colton is sad that grandma, grandpa and papa all had to leave.

Book Review- The Good Earth

"The Good Earth" by Pearl S. Buck is another classic that i felt i needed to read. It was about a mans journey through life as a Chinese farmer. I enjoyed the book. It wasn't one of those books that you just can't put down, but i liked it. I liked the main character and wanted to see good things happen to him and his family, so that had me going. Overall, it was a good classic book.

Master Bedroom and Bathroom Remodel

This last week my dad was in town. Him and Casey are in the process of turning the downstairs bedroom into the master bathroom. We are also retileing the kitchen. Painting everything, and adding a bedroom upstairs. It seems like a never ending process, but day by day we get closer to our goal. More pictures of the remodeling job to come!

Shoes!!!

Coltons first time wearing shoes. We didn't want him to get splinters on his feet while in his walker. He wasn't too sure what they were and was ready to take them off. But he was splinter free!
